Job Description

We are looking for a Demand Planner to join our Volcom team in Costa Mesa, CA!

As a member of the Planning team, the Demand Planner is responsible for building and managing demand plans across all divisions, as well as assisting in the development and execution of purchasing plans.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Generate historical seasonal reports to the division, label, category, style, and sku level

  • Build pre-season roadmap files using history to strategize style/sku counts and profitability that align with financial targets

  • Coordinate with regional sales and finance teams to align product planning, margin targets, and revenue plans

  • Consolidate forecasts by sales channel and review seasonal buying strategy

  • Determine product flow and set seasonal order buy dates in the Purchasing Calendar

  • Build seasonal Demand Analysis files to plan buys by channel and company

  • Manage the current open-to-buy during the purchasing process

  • Create and maintain seasonal demand forecast models based on statistical forecasts

  • Manage the seasonal merchandise buys to the sku level to achieve revenue forecast and support inventory objectives

  • Coordinate, track and adjust the buy in response to demand

  • Manage inventory levels down to the sku level, including never-out-of-stock programs

  • Review style/sku sales and inventory to determine under stock and over stock situations

  • Prepare, report and communicate forecast and inventory measurements to management

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Merchandise, Sales, and Production

  • Other duties as assigned

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2+ years of related professional experience in merchandise, demand planning, forecasting

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities required

  • Excellent Excel skills a must (SUM-IF's, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF-formulas, etc.)

  • Full Circle experience a plus

  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics, turns, margins, etc. required

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions for this position

  • This position is temporarily hybrid due to COVID19 but will have required hours out of our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA
