SAIC is seeking a Waterfall/Agile Integration Study Lead to be a part of an exciting, dynamic R&D environment, working on a small team providing key insights to senior agency leaders. The System Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team has an opening for an experienced engineer to provide research and development (R&D) services to the customer. The customer organization applies research to real-world solutions, revolutionizing agency approaches in engineering development, integration & test and operations with world-wide impacts. The customer serves and principal advisor to senior officials on matters pertaining to the technical readiness and execution of programs and projects.
The non-core Waterfall/Agile Integration SME position would be provided with program data and documents to develop draft processes for the integration of waterfall development of space segment and agile development of ground segment. The deliverables for this effort will include, but not be limited to templates, white papers, Confluence/Jira pages and PowerPoint presentations to describe the proposed processes and provide a basis for training/education of personnel who will execute the processes in the future. The initial efforts shall focus on closing critical integration risks and generalizing processes for any Waterfall/Agile integration challenge. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
. Ensure R&D efforts are planned and conducted on a sound engineering basis with proper control and management of programmatic risks
o Assess impact of programmatic decisions
o Participate in program reviews
o Identify gaps between needs and acquisition offices capabilities to provide inputs to strategic planning
o Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, brief government and industry as required
o Review, coordinate, and integrate office inputs for Front Office communications and responses
Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with 9+ years of experience or 7 with a Masters
. Varied experience in Space and/or Ground systems
. Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic and energetic environment
. Demonstrated ability tow work with MS Office applications
. Effective interpersonal skills, briefing, and writing skills
. Active TS/SCI with Poly
. Ability to work in-office 100%
Desired Qualifications:
. Experience providing on-site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) or SEIT work in advisory capacity to senior leaders
. Experience in the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense
. Advanced degree in engineering, science or related discipline
. Experience with schedule, budget and financial, governance and management practices
. Experience with IC R&D organizations
