Jacobs is seeking an CAD/IG&S Specialist 4 to support the Civil Engineering Operations program at MacDill Air Force Base.
Program Mission:
The Department of the Air Force 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, FL has a continuing requirement for base civil engineering services. This includes base operations support, engineering, management, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure systems, construction management, minor construction, emergency management and response, environmental requirements and programs, real property management; material procurement and management, Civil Engineer (CE) deployment training and management and exercise support.
Job Details:
CADD Specialist in support of design projects, construction projects and facilities maintenance efforts for military installation, including GIS system conformance to enable sharing of data resources, as well as performing associated surveying work. Has competent skill in producing CADD drawings in Microstation and/or Auto Cad.
Prepares drawings for an entire project or a portion of a project with independent responsibility for completion. Works from engineers' sketches, marked up prints, and verbal instructions. Translates ideas, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations of engineers and architects and designers into complete and accurate working drawings for use in structure and system maintenance, repair, or new construction. Provides CADD drafting and plotting services to internal and external customers of Engineering Department.
Prepares drawings for major contractual requirements utilizing software and associated equipment to prepare sets or groups of drawings for new construction, modification, alteration, or renovation of base facilities.
Stores, catalogs, maintains, and updates as-built drawings and ongoing in-house projects. Takes action to ensure that "as-built" drawings are completed for all projects. Researches original drawings and transcribes information and codes into GIS system. Researches and extracts record drawings from manual drawings and electronic files and updates file system for new inputs. Keeps a current index and cross-reference of files/drawings.
Maintains electronic copies of all as-built and new designs on network server in appropriate folders. Follows Tri-Service standards for file naming and CADD leveling conventions for the General, Civil/Site, Utilities, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical for sheet files and all model types.
Operates and maintains print reproduction equipment. Responsible for obtaining reproduction of prints by contract services as well as providing required prints to contracting personnel.
Performs surveying work of limited scope and complexity. Performs maintenance of survey equipment's consisting of field adjustments.
Performs other tasks as necessary and incidental to the required work as directed; including on-call 24-7 response with the ability to respond to base emergency within one (1) hour.
Associates Degree in Applied Science (Architectural/Engineering Drafting Technology) or two (2) years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of symbols, terminology, and accepted standards used in engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, and systems of civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineering disciplines using CADD software to accomplish assignments.
- Skill in maintaining and operating reproduction and plotting machines.
- Ability to prepare original and complex drawings that are neat, accurate, appropriately dimensioned, and logically arranged. Knowledge of methods and techniques of drafting, including the ability to print neatly and legibly.
- Ability to make mathematical computations using standardized tables and formulas.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
