The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Program Lead, Health Care by Food . This position can be home based within the U.S.

This is a full time, benefits eligible grant funded position. Current funding is through approx. June 2028.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and/or assisting in the development and implementation of programs and projects related to the Association's Health Care by Food initiative. This role will be responsible for collaborating across the Association as a portfolio subject matter authority to identify, create and/or expand food is medicine drivers of health, build new alliances and audience-specific engagement channels, identify/grow revenue generating opportunities and run delivery of various funding priorities and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of strategic plans and implementation and serve as a senior subject matter authority to facilitate the Health Care by Food portfolio expansion and integration across the enterprise. Collaborate with a variety of the American Heart Association departments such as Science, Advocacy, Community Health and Mission Advancement to drive end-to-end customer solutions related to the portfolio and advance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for communications and marketing with a focus on growing awareness, brand recognition and overall transparency. Also, responsible for developing tactical plans for program sustainability and field engagement.

  • Identify key national strategic alliance partners to achieve new business and volunteer relationships in an effort to advance opportunities for revenue generation, volunteer leadership and multi-layered collaborations. In addition, nurture, improve or maintain relationships to achieve scale/sustainability of the Health Care by Food Initiative. Provide ongoing relationship management, tracking and evaluation.

  • Lead all aspects of, analyzes and evaluates effectiveness and engagement with food is medicine assets and strategic objectives. Provides recommendations for programmatic development, evaluation and improvement.

  • Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with the Association staff, volunteers, sponsors and partners throughout the entire product planning process. In collaboration with Health Care by Food executive lead, identifies and establishes success measures and analysis of market response and reach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent work experience in Health Promotion, Public Health, Human Resources, Marketing, Business, Communications.

  • Seven (7) years validated experience in business development or account management.

  • Experience in program development, planning and management.

  • Experience in public health or non-profit services.

  • Comprehensive experience building business cases, analyzing market trends and identifying creative business opportunities.

  • Ability to influence leadership without direct authority.

  • Ability to communicate and present ideas across diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of health organizations and community-based standard processes for engaging community-based organizations.

  • Experience with market/consumer research, analytics and reporting.

  • Proven ability to simultaneously lead multiple, complex projects and events in varying stages of development under time constraints to ensure deadline compliance.

  • Proven understanding and appreciation for the use of technology and information systems.

  • Proven critical thinking skills in assessing needs and available resources to efficiently implement new and existing programs.

  • Self-motivated, highly effective organizational and analytical skills, communication, negotiation, and social skills.

  • Validated ability to efficiently participate in or facilitate meetings with internal and external clients including interacting with external partners/sponsors representing the Association to the public as vital.
