The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Executive Communications and Marketing Director, Office of the CEO based out of out National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

This position will work in a hybrid setting (in office 2-3 days a week and as needed) in our Dallas office.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the global positioning and marketing of the CEO for thought leadership and subject matter expertise. Builds and drives strategy to promote and recognize the American Heart Association's CEO via external keynotes, conferences, editorials, etc. to ensure consistent messaging across the U.S. and internationally.

  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics that maintain and improve the Association's CEO brand and voice and support U.S. and International speaking engagements, high-visibility conferences, podcasts, editorials, blogs etc. to showcase the Association's initiatives to a wide array of partners.

  • Actively prospect and recruit 3-5 influential speaking engagements (keynotes, main stage, fireside chat, etc.) annually to further build awareness of Association and CEO thought leadership and priority issues.

  • Major priority issues include investments in science and health technology, women's health and well-being, food and nutrition, patient and consumer virtual health, transformation of health care, equitable access to quality care, and community engagement - all with an anchor in heart and brain health.

  • Secure and broadly promote multiple recognition platforms for the CEO annually (i.e. Top Women in Healthcare, etc.) to elevate thought leadership and expertise in priority issues.

  • Explore membership into executive speakers' bureaus to achieve long-term goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with CEO Roundtable National Program Director to identify strategic business relationships with CEO members to further position CEO across industry forums, conferences, and meetings.

  • In collaboration with the Digital Marketing Team and the Association's Entertainment, Celebrity, and Influencer team, serve as the OCEO liaison for -At the Heart of It- livestream series to ensure consistency in brand and voice as well as provide input on scripts and special guests.

  • In support of speaking engagements, collaborate with others to build and implement a robust and aligned Association's content strategy for earned media opportunities and social media channels in partnership with traditional and social media teams.

  • Write compelling and accurate messaging for the Association's CEO and volunteer leadership, including speeches, newsletters, digital content, etc.

  • Create and help drive clearly defined Association messages across all channels, reaching and engaging key stakeholders including business partners, customers, donors, volunteer supporters, patients, employees, local communities, media and other influencers, policymakers, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Five (5) - Eight (8) years prior validated experience.

  • Three (3) - Five (5) years supervisory experience.

  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within one job area. Typically has specialized knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with an understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.

  • Anticipated travel 40% locally and overnight stay.
