MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (STARSHIP)
The Maintenance Operations team is responsible for performing planned and unplanned maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and machinery. This engineer is responsible for providing engineering support on planned and unplanned repairs, modifications, and upgrades of existing assets for all major production departments in Starbase. In this role they will lead and coordinate with technicians to complete the maintenance work as quickly and creatively as possible within the asset design specifications. The maintenance team emphasizes a collaborative environment and works closely together to overcome roadblocks and get the job done.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, revise, and update maintenance tickets to repair and modify assets and components to conform to design configuration and specifications
Create, modify, and update preventative maintenance instructions and schedules. May perform preventative maintenance to support the team based on the team's capacity
Interpret technical documents in regards to aerospace manufacturing, assemblies, database systems, and processes to create accurate planning
Provide project management support to ensure timely execution of corrective, preventive, and project maintenance
Identify and request parts/hardware directly from blue prints as applicable. Work with purchasing to release purchase orders for outside services and fully outsourced work
Interface with engineering, quality, manufacturing and procurement in resolving any hold factors inhibiting production of flight parts
Perform in depth root cause analysis to drive improvement to equipment and processes
Use experience and feedback from maintenance technicians to drive improvements to work instructions and operation effectiveness
Develop work instructions for recurring repairs and processes, working with technicians and equipment operators
Work with maintenance leadership to develop efficient and effective CMMS strategy
Leverage downtime data to identify and mitigate risk factors, affecting production reliability and OEE
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
1+ years of professional or internship experience in a manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
2+ years of maintenance planning experience
2+ years of experience supporting troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Experience with SQL and/or analytical software such as Tableau
Hands-on experience with equipment control systems, machinery, and industrial automation
Developed understanding of mechanical, fluid, and electrical components
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency
Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills
Excellent skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Smartsheet, Jira and other organizational software
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical effort including standing, lifting, and carrying equipment up to 30 lbs. unassisted
Ability to work in outdoor environments as needed
Must be available to work extended hours and some weekends
Willing to travel for short trips as needed, up to 10% travel
