The American Heart association has an excellent opportunity for a Program Consultant, Health Care Quality supporting our National Center office in Dallas, TX. This position can be home based.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, grant funded opportunity. Current funding will expire on September 30, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
The Program Consultant will be responsible for the implementation of quality programs aimed at improving care in patients with cardiovascular disease. Responsible for working with multiple sites to educate and motivate improvement in treatment to guidelines, clinical processes and practices. Responsible for communicating project status, and delivering requirements within budget, scope, and timeline. This position will also work closely with several different departments within the national office to ensure success.

Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of quality improvement projects to help healthcare providers treat cardiovascular disease in alignment with AHA guidelines, providing consultation, support, and process mapping to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement program strategies, serving as the main point of contact for hospitals and clinics while coordinating with staff and volunteers to ensure sustainability through ongoing resources and education.
Collaborate with clinicians to develop clinical decision support tools and address barriers to guideline adoption, improving patient outcomes by enhancing clinical workflows.
Communicate project progress with leadership, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure project deliverables are met according to timelines.
Oversee project documentation, including managing budgets, timelines, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
2-5 years of related experience.
4 years of experience in healthcare or public health, including clinical, quality improvement, program development, and systems improvement.
3 years of project management experience, including managing budgets, timelines, and communication with team members and stakeholders.
Skilled in working with clinical audiences to drive change management and improve patient outcomes.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively engage with volunteers to increase motivation and participation.
Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time, including overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification.
Experience in the medical field, with a focus on healthcare quality or clinical settings.
Compensation & Benefits
