CACI is looking for an experienced computing Hardware Engineer to provide NASA Johnson Space Center with computational and avionics hardware skills, preferably with embedded software skills, in the development of the Gateway Flight Software Verification Laboratory (GSVL). This engineering position includes developing early prototypes for hardware and embedded software for flight hardware targets, as well as integration and testing of delivered embedded flight software.

What You'll Get to Do:
Design and develop early prototype hardware for the Gateway Avionics Command and Data Handling Products (C&DH) used as a functional test article until formal deliveries of the hardware are made. This includes collaborating and contributing to solutions for the NASA Lunar Gateway C&DH avionics and flight software team.
Design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of formally delivered or of development embedded flight software into prototyped hardware for early integration and testing.
Troubleshooting and analysis of inter-module high-speed serial communication as well as other devices used in the Gateway vehicle.
Ensure adherence to JSC standard software process practices.
This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
3+ years of experience developing digital hardware.
3+ years of experience using laboratory tools such as digital logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters.
3+ years of experience working with embedded processors and associated devices such as memory, peripherals, and high-speed communication protocols.
3+ years of experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
Experience with spacecraft or aircraft C&DH avionics and embedded software development in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) such as VxWorks.
3+ years of experience developing with C programming language.
Experience programming NASA Core Flight Software (cFS) framework.
Experience developing and integrating closed loop real-time spacecraft or aircraft simulators.
Experience using programming FPGAs.
Experience with Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE).
Experience with test facilities supporting human-rated flight systems a plus.
Experience in human-rated safety critical flight software in aerospace or other industries.
Vehicle-wide knowledge of space vehicle systems.

$69,100 - 141,500 USD
