Description:
Program Quality Engineer (PQE) within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) business unit in Santa Barbara, CA. This individual will lead all quality aspects of designated program(s) and report to the Quality Engineering Manager.
The PQE owns and enacts all aspects of the program's quality plan, ensuring compliance to industry standards, contractual requirements, and customer expectations. They serve as the single focal point for Quality & Mission Success (Customer, Program Management, Functions) and lead all aspects including supplier quality, process engineering, and production operations, through all areas of the program/product lifecycle. The PQE ensures communication and flow down of requirements to internal teams and external supply base and may supplement quality team surveillance as required. They analyze quality performance data (manufacturing data, engineering design metrics), identifies recurring issues, drives root cause analysis and corrective actions, and raises quality performance issues to senior leadership, as needed.
This position may require up to 10% overtime annually in support of program execution.
What You Will Be Doing
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensures Quality Engineering, Inspection, and Auditor resources are in place to support surveillance activity and upcoming deliverables
- Flows Program and Quality related information to the Integrated Program Team (IPT)
- Reviews Quality data for trends (favorable or unfavorable) and performs root cause analysis as needed
- Collaborates with Engineering & Technology and Production Operations regarding process questions or changes
- Owns quality reviews for design and process changes on program(s) under ownership
- Provides Quality activity progress update and accomplishments in support of business rhythm

Basic Qualifications:
- STEM Bachelors Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
- 5+ years of professional experience with Bachelors degree; or 3+ years of professional experience with Masters degree
- Quality or Development or Production or Process Engineering experience
- Project Management Skills
- Root Cause and Corrective Action Facilitation Experience
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (This requires US Citizenship)
Desired Skills:
- STEM Bachelors Degree highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Previous Program or Product Quality Experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $78,500 - $150,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
