Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Electrophysiology Technologist will perform specialized roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting. They operate specific high technology equipment and utilizes products under the direction of a qualified physician to assist with multispecialty cardiovascular procedures performed.
Essential Job Functions
Performs and supports image acquisition, image processing, physiologic and/or hemodynamic data acquisition, and simple electrophysiology (EP) or 3D mapping during invasive procedures; assists nurses with patient management.
Assists physician operator and invasive team before, during and after invasive procedures.
Provides appropriate care to patients consistent with level of training.
Performs activities to support the service and/or departmental operation.
Serves, manages, and supports internal and external customers.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Maintains the laboratory and/or operating room and equipment; manage supplies first in, first out (FIFO), and supports accurate billing for procedures performed.

BLS (Basic Life Support), American Heart Association (required)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), American Hear Association (preferred)
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) (preferred)
RCES (Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist) (preferred)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (preferred)
Education
Associates Degree in a Health Sciences or related field (preferred)
One of the following Accredited Certifications:
CVT (Cardiovascular Technician Certification) (preferred)
EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) (preferred)
Paramedic (preferred)
ARRT R, (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Radiography) (preferred)
CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) (preferred)
Work Experience
Clinical patient care experience (required)
1 year of experience or on-the-job training in electrophysiology, aseptic techniques, and cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures (preferred)
