Job Summary
This position can be filled at the Rep I, II or III level commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.
Assists with development and implementation of legislative and communication strategies.
Assists in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key political, business, economic development, governmental, and media contacts.
Assists with media issues and inquiries.
Represents Dominion at community, civic, and political events.
Coordinates, and serves as liaison for, relationships with state and local elected and appointed officials, local businesses, business groups, military groups, and other customers. Investigates and advises community leaders and elected officials on constituent questions, problems, or concerns.
Assists during any major storm event.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
External Affairs Rep I : 0-2 years of related experience and knowledge of government, public policy, economic development, and communications.
External Affairs Rep II: 2-3+ years of related experience and knowledge of government, public policy, economic development, and communications.
External Affairs Rep III: 3+ years of related experience and knowledge of government, public policy, economic development, and communications.
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
Ability to multi-task, synthesize ideas, and plan strategically.
Ability to coordinate work among variety of skill sets.
Ability to work well in a grass roots environment.

Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelor
