The Compensation Analyst is responsible for administering company compensation programs, including base pay, minimum wage change, support with short-term incentive plans, and survey input.
Responsibility
- Review and update job descriptions as requested by department managers. Evaluate and grade jobs using the compensation framework. Market price jobs to develop competitive pay ranges. Partner with department managers to recommend base pay offers, promotional increases, market adjustments, etc.
- Lead and administer several key compensation processes including annual merit increases, mid-year and ad hoc increases, off-cycle promotion requests, and special adjustment requests. Participate in the planning, analysis, and administration of all base pay wage administration including evaluating and analyzing market survey data, base pay ranges, and the company's competitive position in the market.
- Responsible for corporate people planning. Meet with the HR Backfill committee to discuss open roles, added positions, eliminations, etc. Provide quarterly updates to finance on G&A Salaries.
- Lead the administration of the company's online market pricing system. Develop reporting tools to use in the evaluation of the company's pay ranges and market position.
- Work with several survey vendors to provide updates on market information for our jobs
- Administer Minimum Wage changes. Work with Payroll, IT, and cross-functional departments to ensure compliance and state regulations are met
Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 2-4 years experience in Compensation or Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills including strong knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Detail and multi-task oriented.
- Basic knowledge of economic and financial theories.
- Knowledge of employment and wage and hour laws.
- Knowledge of Compensation practices and theory.
