Goodwin William Staffing is looking for an experiencedAssistant Controllerto join our team/work with one of our clients in Charlottesville, VA. Under general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and other senior personnel, the Assistant Controller will administer and maintain complete and accurate records, preparing, monitoring, and compiling financial transactions and production performance reports in compliance with Company policies and generally accepted accounting principles. The Assistant Controller will work on site weekly during regular business hours.Direct Hire / Full Benefits PackageAnnual Salary: $110,000 - $130,000, DOEJob Description:Reports to Chief Executive OfficerClosely track all of the inputs that go into producing tagatose and other products and calculate/track the cost of goods.Work with external financial services providers to track A/P, A/R, and expense receipts, and assist in preparation/review of financial statements.Work with auditors and tax return preparers.Maintain general ledger accounts by performing complex reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts including cash, accounts receivable, commodity/consumable inventories, payable accruals, capital assets, labor, utilities, rent and tax liabilities.Verify data, confirms adjustments, and prepare journal entries from operational systems used for original business transactions. Analyze data for reasonableness, research and resolve variances, and work with the plant manager to coordinate and establish departmental information flow and recommend process improvements.Receive, verify documentation, and settle payment for commodities and consumablesConfirm the validity and maintain documentation relating to transactions. Two or more years related experience with a manufacturing organization. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirement.Must possess a good understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.Proficient in Cost Accounting.Experience with ERP systems.Must have a general understanding of manufacturing and related accounting processes.GAAP, planning and organizational skills, analysis/problem assessment.Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and communicate verbally and in writing with all levels.Successful candidates may be required to pass a background check and drug screening.
