GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. Business Development Representative supports the prospecting activities for adding new strategic partners. These strategic partners could have multiple vision related product needs such as Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Federal Exchanges, Pediatric, Med-Surge or Embedded Eye Exams, etc. This role supports all related prospecting activities including vetting, ensuring request for proposal (RFP) deadlines are met, ensuring organizational resources are aligned to provide a winning response, and tracking all prospecting related activities. This role develops relationships with key internal stakeholders and ensures all assigned sales support, actuarial, legal, compliance and reporting needs are met, including CMS and other regulated insurance requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages and executes input/reporting on all strategic partner prospecting activities within Salesforce which includes, but not limited to, reporting of all RFP related activities, lead contact information, exception requests, and all touch points with prospect.
Manages all prospecting activities including prospect research, request for proposal (RFP) responses, prospect strategies, finalist presentations, prospect follow-up's, build of product matrixes, and ensures NDA's, BAA's, and draft contracts are prepared and executed in a timely manner.
Builds strong relationships and collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing responsiveness to partners' needs. Ensures all sales communications and needs are timely and expedited.
Leverages internal departments to facilitate sales process such as execute quote requests, request for proposals, finalist presentation support, post-quote follow up activity and facilitating sales process.
Manages and leads internal support for new sales and marketing related projects such as conference participation, researching prospects especially contacts with ZoomInfo, Linkedin, Lead Generation and new business forecast.
Assists in new Strategic Partner implementations including, but not limited to, gathering relevant information on new strategic partner client and ensuring it matches planned implementation. Helps support/facilitate custom requirements such as provider recruiting, contracting, etc. and ensures from a business development perspective the project is on track, escalating any obstacles that need special leadership attention.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years business experience (sales support, marketing, account management or relevant experience)
Customer/client support experience
Excellent communication skills (written/verbal)
Ability to compile and facilitate organization approvals for custom client requests
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with specific focus and experience in Power Point, Excel and Word
Comfortable managing e-mail and telephonic relationships
Demonstrated sense of urgency responding to both internal and external customers, attention to detail and ability to proofread legal and sales/marketing documents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Sales support and/or marketing experience and/or administrative experience
CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce.com
Analytical skills with ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting required deadlines
Knowledge of ancillary benefits industry especially vision and/or health insurance industry experience
