Position summary: Responsible for electrical engineering designs using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to plan, organize, execute, and coordinate projects, with direction as needed from the Section Head.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform engineering calculations and assessments to determine best practice electrical design solutions for specific applications
Conduct field investigations, electrical load studies, photometric lighting calculations, lighting and power layouts, and basic low-voltage systems design
Participate in producing electrical design documents (drawings and specifications) for bidding and construction
Coordinate project designs with client specifications and local, city, state code requirements, including interaction with code officials and permitting offices
Navigate a variety of challenges in both preparing electrical designs and assisting the Owner/Architect/Contractor with construction issues in the field
Assist the Project Manager on small to medium size projects having a significant electrical design component.

Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but principles of electrical design knowledge obtained through professional experience will be considered
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of technical experience is necessary
Previous field experience with the operation and/or maintenance of power, lighting and/or low-voltage systems is a plus
Successful EIT, or FE, registration is preferred but not required
Working Conditions
Work is predominately performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Hybrid-remote work will be considered.
Field work is required on occasion in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and ability to climb stairs/ladders may be required as needed.
