Operations Communications Manager
As GAF's Operations Communications Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of high-impact and relevant internal communications plans necessary to advance the business priorities and culture of the Residential Operations team. Working closely with the Residential Operations leadership team and the HR business partners across our 13 Residential manufacturing facilities, you will be a key driver of employee engagement, business strategy and culture advancement for our non-wired frontline employees. Additionally, this role will be responsible for developing communications strategies and plans that help operationalize our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in our Residential facilities. This position reports to the Director, Operations Communications and acts as a key contributor across the broader Communications, CSR and Sustainability team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Internal Communications and Employee Engagement
Develop internal communications plans to effectively reach a non-wired employee workforce, with a particular focus on our Residential plants
Implement a standardized communications cadence to help reinforce and drive Operations business strategy, priorities and culture for Residential Operations leadership
Develop standardized messaging framework and support materials in concert with communications cadence to drive consistency, clarity and employee understanding
Establish a communications mechanism for sourcing frontline success stories that showcase our strategy and values in action
Draft communications materials inclusive of talking points, FAQs, key messages, briefing documents and content for Residential Operations leadership
CSR Communications
Develop a CSR Communications framework complete with supporting communications materials that can be tailored by the individual plants
Instill the storytelling rigor with key plant leadership stakeholders using existing tools to create a push-pull feed that celebrates community engagement and impact
Develop internal communications campaigns and implementation frameworks that can be tailored at the plant-level to drive deeper employee engagement and community impact
Provide communications support to Residential plant leadership for signature CSR initiatives and events
Promote stories that connect the dots across the network and between plants to instill internal pride and engagement in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives
Requirements
8-10 years of relevant experience
BA/BS in Communications, with a concentration in journalism preferred
Experience working in/with a manufacturing environment and with non-wired employees
Experience with Lean management principles and the Agile methodology
Exceptional writer with the ability to translate business and corporate social responsibility strategy into storytelling opportunities that resonate with various employee audiences
Must be curious, very organized, have a strong attention to detail, be a self-starter
Demonstrated ability to influence and be a strategic consultative partner
