We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Infrastructure/Storage Administrator to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support for the classified network onboard NSWC Corona. You will also respond to tickets, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement infrastructure and storage solutions.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Troubleshoot and analyze unusual or complex hardware and software malfunctions, integration, and compatibility issues to resolve physical and logical processing problems and recommends acquisition of equipment, software and/or hardware, which will resolve operational problems. Continually surveys system operations to identify and anticipate potential problems, which could lead to loss or serious interruption of service, or compromise of system data.

  • Identifies corrective or preventative procedures and takes actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.

  • Develop proposals to enhance operational use of systems and networking hardware and software and keeps abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service.

  • Applies innovative techniques and seasoned judgment to assist management in identifying areas where IT systems can reduce or eliminate labor and time intensive manual processes.

  • Develops new procedures and policies within the organization that may require additional research in order to complete a business case analysis or defend his or her ideas and proposals.

  • Collaboration within the organization as well as collaboration with outside entities to resolve issues.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with the following :

  • Knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods, and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.

  • Knowledge of multiple IT disciplines such as cybersecurity, help desk, networking, and system administration.

  • Knowledge of methods and practices involved in the integration of system components sufficient to optimize system performance in an enterprise network.

  • Skills in the administration of multiple technologies such as firewalls, networking devices, servers, and end user devices.

  • Skill in applying critical thinking in an enterprise level issue to resolve complex issues.

  • Skill in resolving complex issues by collaborating with the subject matter experts.

  • Skill in resolving issue and integrating systems where there is not a precedent.

  • Skill in applying basic project management practices to complete projects in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work closely with management officials to ensure seamless implementation of systems; identify and anticipate server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems; resolve installation problems; identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks; and maintain server integrity and availability.

  • Ability to modify existing systems and relate all aspects of the work to overall system requirements, advise on and implement new technology, and offer alternative approaches in operating systems development and/or problem resolution.

  • Ability to stay well informed on rapidly changing technology, to evaluate its possible impact on organization missions, and to develop strategies to satisfy requirements.

  • Ability to develop formal and informal training session materials/user instructions or manuals and to present training which enables customer understanding and operation.

  • Ability to coordinate with customers and IT specialist to resolve issues with end-user applications, programs, databases, and systems.

  • Must have an updated Security+ certificate for CSWF membership.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
