Summary
The Senior Director of Total Rewards and People Operations & Technology will set the strategic vision to develop and implement our total rewards philosophy and agenda and our HR operations roadmap. This position is responsible for bringing an innovative approach to HR service delivery and compensation strategies. Creative problem solving, excellent stakeholder engagement, and change management capabilities will ensure smooth implementation of initiatives that support our squad experience.
Reporting to the chief people officer and serving as a key member of the People leadership team, the Sr Director, Total Rewards and People Operations & Technology will drive business results and provide leadership vision around strategic initiatives that will drive retention and squad experience. Initially, this role will lead a team of approximately 11 people.
This position is a combination of strategic and operational leadership that will work in partnership with the Executive Team, the people team and across all business functions to deliver results that will ultimately drive higher value to our squad members, our customers and our leaders to drive business success. Lead total rewards, people operations & technology function to effectively design, implement and communicate an overarching strategy, supported by programs, and initiatives to move the business forward and support our people.

Key Responsibilities
Direct, develop and manage the total rewards function including all compensation and benefits programs, people operations and people technology
Lead, manage, and administer the compensation and benefits function to ensure programs such as compensation, equity, bonus programs, recognition, health, and wellness benefits are competitive, valued, and aligned with MOD's culture, business strategy and financial plans.
Leverage knowledge of market conditions and competitive talent landscape to design tailored strategies for compensation concerning key talent segments
Manage and oversee the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and reporting of executive and equity compensation programs and initiatives
Play a key role in the creation of Compensation Committee materials, collaborating with the CPO, CFO, CEO
Drive company-wide understanding of MOD's total rewards programs, through communication and education
Support our People operations team in driving solutions and delivering the needs of an ever evolving workforce
Partner with our Talent Acquisition team to develop offers that are competitive and equitable. Provide guidance on total compensation and equity.
Manage job leveling, salary surveys, and market analysis in order to make comprehensive recommendations. Understand current and emerging market trends to identify potential opportunities and gaps.
Develop and deliver communications that help our employees appreciate and value their total compensation package benefits, base, bonus, equity, time off, etc.; create total rewards statements and materials.
Manage and provide oversight for benefits partner for renewal and the open enrollment process, including partnering and negotiating with external vendors, preparing communications for employees, and working with the CPO to ensure employees are well informed and engaged. Oversee the management and execution of the 401k plan, including all compliance and fiduciary activities.
Collaborate with the People Team and the technology team to identify technology and system needs that support a growing company. Develop a proposed plan for selecting and implementing applications and systems to enable data-driven decision-making and reduce manual processing. Partner with technology to ensure systems and tools are compatible.
Remain current on industry trends, best practices, compliance, new/progressive processes, etc., that enable MOD to achieve organizational excellence.
Liaise with Finance on all relevant matters
Ensure programs are cost effective and drive employee engagement
Serve as an expert resource in building and implementing scalable infrastructure and processes, designing best practice programs
Development and management of all workflows and processes so that they are efficient and automated where possible
Optimize HRIS systems to meet workforce requirements creating opportunities for automation, self-service and reduction of manual processes.
Accountable for the effectiveness of the HRIS system and associated processes and programs including Applicant Tracking, On-boarding, Learning Management, Compensation and Performance Management/Goals modules, etc.
Efficiently scale our people processes in a way that uses self-service, automation, tools, and technology. Evaluate all current resources and determine best mechanism for rapid scaling and operational support.

Partner with the rest of the people team to ensure operational support on all people related initiative and find opportunities to implement both tactical and innovative solutions to increase efficiency and enhance the employee experience. Influence how people programs are designed, rolled out and experienced.
Keeps abreast of legislation and best practices in all rewards areas (retirement plans, benefits, healthcare, equity plans & administration, FLSA, etc). Ensures that all programs are compliant with applicable laws & regulations
Oversee the development and maintenance of our people calendar, budget and quarterly business reviews.
Leads the strategic agenda, and related programs and initiatives, that link our employee value proposition and one-of-a-kind culture.
Complete other projects as assigned by People leadership, or as needs are recognized
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR, finance, Business, or other relevant area
People leadership experience; will lead a team of 6-11 (will grow over time); proven demonstration of strong people leader skills
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility in compensation, benefits, and HR systems and applications
Demonstrated ability to successfully execute in a dynamic, fast-paced organization, preferably in retail or quick service restaurants, with limited infrastructure. Ability to handle shifting priorities and multitasking in a growing business.
Ability to be both strategic and operational. This leadership role requires working at different altitudes - sometimes with big-picture, innovative approaches and at other times it requires hands-on execution.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines with including compensation, change management, organizational diagnosis and planning, and diversity is a plus
Relevant industry experience a plus
Experience rolling out new programs, systems or policies
An solid understanding of SuccessFactors
Physical Requirements
Office work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone.
