Position Overview:
The Product Repair Associate/Electronics Technician delivers excellence while embodying our SPIRIT Values of Service, Pride, Integrity, Results, Innovation and Teamwork. The Product Repair Associate III is responsible for repairing and testing desktop, laptop, handheld computers, laser scanners, and other equipment used throughout WIS.
Essential Responsibilities:
Repairs and tests handheld computers, scanners, and other RGIS equipment
Uses various cleaners and solvents to clean equipment
Uses various epoxies, glues, and thread-locker during the repair process
Installs and configures software
Submits warranty claims to hardware vendors
Performs component level repair of circuit boards
Uses diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems
Assembles and prepares new equipment
Fabricates parts using plastic resins and/or metal hardware
Writes and updates various technical documentation
Develops hardware modifications to increase efficacy and efficiency of software
Assists with shipping and receiving
Demonstrates the RGIS core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation at all times
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's degree or technical/vocational training in equipment repair
A minimum of four (4) years of experience as component-level electronics technician.
The ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair digital and analog electronic hardware, IC's
Skilled in the assembly and disassembly of small devices
Experience using diagnostic software to test computer hardware
Ability to read electronic schematics and diagrams
Use of Oscilloscopes, Huntron trackers, and mulitmeters
Experience with IR Reflow stations, and Air Bath for SMT.
Ability to solder and de-solder small surface mount components
Familiar with the safe and proper use of chemicals, cleaners, adhesives, and resins
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Ability to handle shifting priorities

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Working Conditions:
Must be able to carry or move equipment, fixtures, and supplies up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently. Must be able to frequently bend, twist, reach, and stoop. Must be able to extend arms and reach and/or lift over head. Must be able to frequently use repetitive motions requiring use of wrists, hands, and fingers. Must practice proper safety precautions during the use of chemicals and solvents. Travel via plane and automobile may be required periodically, including overnight stays.
