Title: IT FIELD SUPPORT SUPERVISOR Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 220002G1 Job Summary: Serves as the Supervisor for field support, performing a variety of duties to include supervision of information systems technical support of all NEXCOM field activities. Also oversees the liaison and tracking of facilities renovation and construction projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Incumbents of this position must be U.S. Citizens - Provides technical leadership and daily supervision of assigned associates. Prioritizes assignments, schedules work, answers questions, completes performance reviews, approves leave and determines training requirements. - Supervises the installation, configuration, modification and maintenance of all IT hardware/software. - Responsible for development, compilation, and oversight of team IT budget. - Interfaces with management at the district and store level to ensure that store IT support needs are met. - Assists in coordinating the troubleshooting and resolution of IT and user problems in a timely manner. - Ensures a 24x7 on-call rotation for after hours field support, and serves as an escalation level for all field-related issues. - Ensures that the security and integrity of all network hardware and software is maintained as a high priority and area of focus in the field IT environment. - Provides oral and written reports to all levels of the Code I management chain. - Supervises the tracking, oversight, and coordination of Facilities construction and renovation projects to ensure timely tracking and delivery of IT tasks. - Reviews metrics, tickets, and other performance criteria regarding the field teams, and provides follow-up and tasking to improve weak areas. - Responsible for project plan development and tracking for projects which require field IT involvement. - Ensure/implement the rigorous application of Information Security/Information Assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Systems, Applications and/or Services (Hardware & Software). Performs other related duties as assigned. The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required. IAT2 jobs: SECNAV M-5239.2 DoN, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Manual requires that all incumbents of this position possess, and maintain current, two types of certifications as follows: IA Certification: One of the following certifications: Security , GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); or any one of the following higher level certifications: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC Security Expert (GSE), Security Certified Network Architect (SCNA). NEXCOM preferred certification is Security Technical Certification: MCDST, MCTS Window 7 certification or any replacement certificate or exam that Microsoft may announce in the future to replace Windows 7 Configuration Exam 680. Certification must be valid (not expired) as defined by the policy of the certification issuer. Candidates without the required certification may be placed into this job, but must obtain the required certification within 6 months of appointment; failure to obtain the proper certification requirement will result in termination of employment. This position is designated IT-1 (Critical - Sensitive) in accordance with SECNAV M-5510.30 and will require a favorable Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Candidates must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance, within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain will result in termination. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be U.S. Citizens. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in administrative, technical work, which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes, required to perform technical, managerial, or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EXPERIENCE FOR EDUCATION: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Five years of experience that includes at least three of the following in the aggregate and at least one year experience in each of the first three items. 1. Experience leading or supervising IT technical support associates including tasking, oversight, and coordination. 2. Experience in coordination, interfacing, and communication with management levels within the top third of the organizational management structure. 3. Experience in supporting a multi-site/multi-node IT environment, in a diverse geographic area. 4. Experience in the administration of a technical team including project development and tracking, budget development and oversight, scheduling, and providing oral and written reports to all levels of the organization.
