Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Sacramento , CA is $97,531.00 to $130,700.00 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Preparing standardized work instructions, floor layouts, and material storage configurations. Using SAP as a tool for warehouse process improvements, including LM01 - custom warehouse operations transactions, LS24 - warehouse inventory management, COOIS - planned order/production order, SQ00 for data query, LT24 - transfer orders management, PK series and LS01N series - Production Supply Areas/Storage Type configuration. Setting up production material and improve space utilization through design and implementation of racking systems, flow racks, component conveyance systems, vertical lift modules, carousel storage systems, and component sorting systems from small hardware components to large -rail vehicle- size components. Working on material density, reducing sku quantities, processes for obsolete inventory, processes for re-slotting storage locations, seasonal variations, utilizing cube, creating more storage spaces, decreasing aisle widths, and increasing pallet storage density. Applying working knowledge and understanding of permitting requirements, foundation requirements, and other regulatory requirements when implementing shelving systems, racking systems, and other component storage configurations or methods. Developing data-based method for forecasting warehouse configuration changes for components storage on shelves, conveyors, and pallets based on anticipated new business. Defining and implementing material conveyance system for production components including supplier to warehouse, warehouse to production, and supplier to production for manufacturing materials and components. Coordinating and communicating technical information to and from all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers. Developing department procedures to improve business and warehouse transactions. Implementing Lean Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve operational processes to decrease cycle times and increase throughput for overall operation efficiency. Developing packaging solutions that meet supply chain and logistics specifications to improve material flow in the warehouse operations. Leading projects and working with interdisciplinary departments to achieve all project goals within the give constraints.
Requirements : Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in an Industrial Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering or related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in an Industrial Engineer-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Working in a manufacturing or servicing industry to set up, upgrade and improve logistics performance and processes within an operations environment. Developing project plans, timelines / schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, resource requirements, negotiating with suppliers, and calculating Return On Investment (ROI). Working with Lean Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve the operational processes to decrease cycle times and increase throughput for overall operation efficiency. Working with simulation and data management software as a tool for continuous improvement process as well as operations management. Working with tooling and equipment for material handling operations and its impact to safety, accuracy, quality, throughput, and efficiency. Working with different types of bills of materials and the ability to interpret and translate these bills of materials into organizational decision making. Working with packaging to improve warehouse and production operations. Work with firm drive to bring projects to closure and meet project target dates with the ability to recognize potential issues and mitigate risks.
