SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Specialty Engineer to develop requirements for game changing combat capabilities for the Air Force. Join a team of dedicated SMEs supporting Air Combat Command's Advanced Combat Concepts Division (ACC A5/8ZG). This team of specialized professionals works with Combatant Commanders, Air Staff, program offices, industry, and other organizations to define the systems required to defeat our nation's adversaries. A5/8Z is responsible for nearly all weapons employed by the United States Air Force and is central to the development of the cutting edge, highly classified technologies required to employ them.
This position is 100% onsite located at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA and will require some CONUS/OCONOS travel.
Job Responsibilities:
Act as a senior technical advisor to the Advanced Combat Capabilities branch, within ACC A5/8ZG, supporting program management and requirements development.
Serve as a SME for advanced remotely piloted aircraft systems, to include training, manning, and basing support needs.
Provide operational, technical, and analytical assistance to document MAJCOM and Special Access Program (SAP) requirements.
Regularly interface with Air Staff, MAJCOMs, Numbered Air Forces, and other government organizations when performing duties associated with ACC A5/8ZG.
Provide advice and assistance to leadership in the areas of mission needs and requirements analysis, concept of operations, program tradeoff analysis, program roadmap creation including technology insertion, platform integration, and support planning.
Recommend policy changes and support the communication of policy changes.
Provide security/indoc briefing to personnel.
Represent A5/8ZG at CAF requirements meetings and other SAP planning meetings.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and twelve fourteen years (14) or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience
Experience in DoD disciplines including mission needs and requirements analysis
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
TS/SCI clearance required to start
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph required to maintain employment
US citizenship required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong background in military operations
Experience with remotely piloted aircraft systems and their operations in the global environment
Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Excellent research skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience with Special Access Programs / SAP security requirements
Experience with artificial intelligence and its application to ISR operations
Experience with air-to-air and/or air-to-ground weapons
Experience with 5th Gen platforms or ability to demonstrate a good working knowledge of their capabilities
