METROLOGY TECHNICIAN
The Metrology Technician will perform calibration, compensation and repair of electronic, physical - dimensional, mechanical, thermodynamic and/or chemical inspection measurement and test equipment (IMTE) for SpaceX's world-class measurement applications and facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow procedures to perform routine and complex tasks related to the calibration, compensation, repair and maintenance of electronic, physical - dimensional, mechanical, thermodynamic and / or chemical IMTE.
Use measurement reference standards and calibration systems to verify conformance of IMTE with associated performance criteria.
Assure compliance of SpaceX Metrology to SpaceX Quality Management System and AS9100D requirements.
Assist metrology engineering in assessing, modifying and implementing metrology processes and applications.
Support IMTE end users and owners regarding IMTE use and measurement best practices.
Serve as IMTE subject matter expert for supported measurement parameters.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
1+ years of experience in the repair and calibration of inspection measurement and test equipment (IMTE).
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of professional experience in the repair and calibration of IMTE.
Experience with precision measurement equipment laboratory (PMEL) and/or test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE)
Training in defense, aerospace, energy or medical settings.
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, AS9100D and ISO9001.
AC/DC low frequency IMTE calibration, compensation and repair experience.
Familiarity with calibration management and metrology information systems, specifically IndySoft.
American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Calibration Technician (CCT).
Experience with and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Ability to balance and provide timely execution of multiple assigned tasks and projects.
