SOURCING SPECIALIST, MARINE
We are a progressive procurement organization pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement reputation and methodologies. The purchasing team has aggressive objectives for 2022 that positively impact our product and bottom line. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage implementation and development of marine category strategies to reduce risk and meet targets for the purchasing department including, but not limited to, payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings
Contract Management: Responsible for authoring of contract documents with Engineering, Marine Operations and Legal department. Manage contracts to ensure performance of the supplier to contract obligations
Project Management: Responsible for identifying and executing cost reduction projects including planning, stakeholder coordination, timeline management, and project updates
Negotiations: Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefit while lowering risk
Strategy / Sourcing: Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and meet targets for the offshore programs including, but not limited to, payment terms, spend targets, and cost savings
Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships to create strategic sourcing models that optimize the value of products and services that support business unit requirements to maintain continuous cost reduction programs; communicate, manage, and drive compliance to category strategies; provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Market Intel: Conduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categories. Establish preferred suppliers for assigned category
Create and implement related management programs to develop, continuously improve, manage the performance of, and monitor KPIs of the supply base
Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices
Develop and lead efforts to reduce number of transactions and improve business processes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum GPA of 3.2
2 years of experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering function
Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed
Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environment
Ability to prioritize appropriately to meet internal customer and company needs
Effective written and verbal communications skills, with strong ability to communicate to all levels of internal personnel
Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
Ability to conduct all activities with the highest of integrity
Strong budget tracking and cost analytical skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Flexible to work long hours when needed to meet critical deadlines
