Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Fabricator to join our TEAM! As the Fabricator, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as fabricate products using standardized practices and methods, Coordinates with management to complete projects/work orders and ability to directly increase overall product quality and integrity.
Primary Objective
Performs complex mechanical duties and a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.
Major Function and Scope
Fabricate products using standardized practices and methods.
Coordinates with management to complete projects/work orders.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures as directed by management and/or supervisors.
Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and function of required items and ensuring safety.
Continuously reviewing their respective area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization and be able to professionally speak to their solution for improvement.
In depth knowledge and experience of Process improvement (Plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan)
Ability to lead projects and complete successfully.
Informs supervisor of operational status of equipment and notifies of any problem areas.
Performs other related duties as required.
Keeps work area safe, clean and organized.
Experience and Knowledge Required
High school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge of electrical code. Formal PLC training preferred.
Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
5 or more years of ceramic experience in electrical and PLC experience preferred.
Competencies
In depth knowledge of welding (stick, mig, tig, aluminum, cast)
In depth knowledge of pipe fitting (threading, cutting, PVC, fabricating flanges)
In depth knowledge of cutting (plasma, oxygen-acetylene)
In depth knowledge of conveyor re-building (alignment of pulley's, belt tensions, finger guard design, guide settings).
In depth knowledge of lathes, mills, drill presses, surface grinders, bench grinders, and hand tools.
In depth knowledge of hydraulic hoses (fabricating, fitting, splicing and repairing).
Ability to improvise when there are no parts, modifications are necessary, and motor rpm, gear box, and pulley's are not the same.
