Independent evaluation of software processes and products and their conformity to standards, models, and software engineering program-defined processes
- Ensuring quality is built into program processes and products by checking for completeness, consistency, correctness, and conformance throughout the entire software development life cycle and maintenance activities to determine whether the program's objectives have been satisfied and if continuous improvement is needed
- Developing, monitoring, measuring, and analyzing software metrics for continuous improvement
- Ability to fill all aspects of the Quality function, including Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering. The candidate needs to be able to take on roles that sometimes fall outside of the conventional SQE job description, like directing AS9100 audit support, program metric definition and reporting, evaluation of nonconformances trending, and driving lessons learned and best practices
- Ability to present software quality assessment of products and processes to the customer and program management
- Track and manage nonconformances, software defects, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action activities for the program
Basic Qualifications:
- Current US Citizenship
- Active Secret security clearance
- STEM Undergrad degree (Biology, Engineering, Nursing, Computer Science, or other related field)
- Knowledge of quality systems/processes and expertise in external quality standards
- Knowledge of software development life cycle models
- Ability to interpret software design and code to verify the implementation of requirements
- Proficient skill with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Knowledge of AS9100D and CMMI requirements
Desired Skills:
- Able to work independently in an environment with challenging requirements and dynamic schedules
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and resolve technical issues with multiple teams, suppliers, and customers
- Knowledge of configuration management and control tools
- Technical experience in a related discipline (e.g., Quality Engineering, System Safety, Engineering, Integration & Test)
- Experience in supporting Agile/Scrum software development
- Experience with ClearQuest, DOORS, VersionOne (Agility), and/or other Configuration Management tools
- Experience with Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience with code collaborator tools
- Experience in test planning, processing, and nonconformance processing, including root cause analysis and corrective action development
- Experience in establishing quality assurance performance metrics for identifying process improvement
- Experience with US Military customers and/or other government customer support organizations
- Lean/Six Sigma Green belt
- ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
