The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
The Patient Integration team is seeking an intern interested in public health including program development, implementation, and evaluation. Ideal candidates will possess strong skills in program and project management and foundational research.
The Patient Integration team is integral to the mission of the American Heart Association, striving to ensure that all with cardiovascular conditions or risk factors have the care, resources and support to survive and thrive. This team leads organizational strategy to improve the diagnosis, treatment, condition management, and quality of life for patients living with cardiovascular disease, stroke, or a risk factor.

Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 25 hours per week
Internship Duration: 9/9/24 - 12/6/24
Location: Remote position
Salary: $23.00 per hour

Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
Tasks could include things like the following:
Market and environmental research
Conduct literature reviews and translate dense content into easy-to-read and understand versions and formats
Research existing campaigns and initiatives focused on specific patient conditions to assess the competitive landscape
Monitor environmental trends to identify priority funding opportunities
Explore program evaluation opportunities to include in proposals
Program and Project Management
Collaborate with the appropriate team lead to identify best practices and develop resources for the team such as handbooks, toolkits, and resources
Support the team in the development of patient and healthcare professional education resources such as web articles, handouts, infographics, etc. in coordination with marketing and communication leads
Develop templates for program and project reporting and assist with quarterly reporting needs
Qualifications
Knowledge in the field of public health and health equity.
Experience with literature reviews.
Demonstrated skills in research such as market research, environmental scans, etc.
Demonstrated skills in written communications, including ability to translate dense content into easy to read and understand versions and formats.
Ability to build and cultivate relationships with internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written community.
Strong organizational skills and willingness to support administrative tasks as needed.
Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
