We are seeking an emerging Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and research/development efforts within Missiles and Fire Control. GNC Engineer tasks include:

- Design, integrate, and test GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products

- Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations

- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements

- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities

Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities

- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications:

- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance. An interim secret clearance is required to start.

- Candidate must have a BS/MS degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar

- Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:

o Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms

o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations

o Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python

o Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations

Desired Skills:

- Proficiency with C++ programming, Matlab, Python, and Linux

- Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses

- Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems

- Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)

- Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE)

- Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements

- Experience verifying/validating system and subsystem requirements

- Familiarity with software configuration management and software unit testing

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
