Summary
The IT Support Specialist (Level 1) will provide level 1 technical assistance in support of MOD's instore technology and employees. The IT Support Specialist works under direct supervision, responds to and diagnoses problems through discussion with users, includes problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps. Typically resolves basic problems while referring more complex problems to intermediate or more senior levels. May involve use of problem management database and help desk systems.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot store technical issues
Create and execute support tickets
Setup, support and maintain Support Center computers and hardware
Troubleshoot network and ISP connectivity issues
Continuously work to improve the IT incident and problem management processes
Basic Qualifications
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to maintain composure and communicate clearly
Ability to learn and understand the functional and technical elements of MOD's technology solutions
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and superior time management skills
Dependable and able to work a rotating on call schedule
Ability to lift and carry 25+ pounds
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of technical experience with 1-year experience in helpdesk environment
General understanding of internet technologies
Good understanding of desktop operating systems
Physical Requirements
Office Semi-Technical work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to handle or move objects. Semi-regularly positioning oneself (e.g., stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist, kneel, crouch) to set up, install, and repair computer equipment. Systems & Network Admin/Engineers regularly handle or move objects weighing up to 20 lbs.; occasionally up to 40lbs (team lift okay). Deskside Support regularly handle or move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. Communicate or exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person or electronically.
