Team or Function Overview

The ISO Machine Technician schedules are based on business needs (Typically 12 hour shifts)

This position will be on Night shift and does have a shift differential

Holidays, weekends and other shifts may be required

Summary

The ISO Lead Technician is responsible for producing high quality commercial roofing products at GAF through accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of

all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. The Machine Technician will perform various, rotating duties relating to all manufacturing operations. He or she will support the managers and all plant staff to meet operational goals and perform duties as assigned.

Employees will contribute to a highly motivated and positive environment. The Lead Technician reports to the Production Supervisor.

The Machine Technician reports to the Production Supervisor. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and Lead Technician, the Machine Technician must be familiar with all areas of the foam making process along with any off-line equipment associated with the production line and is responsible for maintaining a continuous efficient operation while assuring the proper setup of the foam line, and associated equipment. It is the responsibility of all Technicians to operate in a safe manner, and monitor quality of the product we produce through the use of process specifications, Plant RCN, PCN, and online testing.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Produce high quality products on a consistent basis

Generate timely, consistent reports

Communicate positively and effectively with other production operators and leaders

Assure all activities are performed safely

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting, walking and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and balancing

Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone

Required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects, tools and product samples

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely

Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch

Ability to perform detailed testing processes in various process conditions

Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of manufacturing equipment and machinery

Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

Under This Roof, We Require

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

Minimum 3 years' manufacturing experience required, preferably in a fast paced, continuous process environment.

Ability to troubleshoot and solve production challenges

Positive attitude, ability to adapt and contribute to a team

Knowledge of manufacturing concepts, safety practices and procedures preferred

Experience supporting production and business goals

Advanced proficiency in Google suite
