The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Product Manager, Healthcare, in Dallas, Texas (Flexible work arrangements available).

The American Heart Association / American College of Cardiology (ACC) Product Manager, Healthcare, is a new position that will serve as the technical product manager, expert user and advocate for the integrated software systems that comprise the new evidence-based guidelines platform (-Living Guidelines Platform-; LGP) (structured content management system and workflow management system); managing the guidelines content lifecycle to achieve business objectives, including compliance (e.g. readability, regulatory, accessibility), decreasing time to publication, and efficient content reuse.

Responsibilities

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, is responsible for maximizing the value which the new LGP creates by facilitating the adoption and ongoing optimization of the LGP, ensuring that the component software systems (structured content management system and workflow management system) meet guideline management staff and volunteer writer/reviewer needs.

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, serves as the primary point of contact with American Heart Association IT and publications teams, ACC IT and publications teams, and external vendors (workflow management system and structured content management system).

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, facilitates interaction with internal staff and external stakeholders through meetings, including but not limited to daily stand-ups, weekly check-ins, monthly governance meetings, and quarterly status updates.

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, articulates the broader vision for living guidelines, guides, and supports staff and volunteers involved in content creation, content management, and the content-delivery pipeline, so that the guideline development team of staff and volunteers understands how and why to use the content management system in the development of guidelines.

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, provides training and mentoring to guideline staff members on the usage of the workflow management system and the structured content management system

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, may identify functional and business requirements for additional technology solutions to support the LGP

  • Product Manager, Healthcare, reports to the American Heart Association/ACC National Senior Director, Guidelines, and works closely with American Heart Association and ACC joint guideline staff in collaboration with volunteer cardiovascular clinicians.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technical Communications, or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience leading all aspects of content structure within a large-scale and sophisticated digital and print publishing operation.

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership and managerial experience; ability to communicate effectively in a geographically dispersed team.

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), as well as group facilitation and relationship management skills; experience working with a stakeholder audience which comprises a broad span of organizational levels and has a wide range of expertise (such as technical, clinical/medical, publishing.

  • Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with business partners, volunteers, IT partners, and vendors.

Project and Product Management:

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience, including meeting facilitation, customer and internal team engagement, project and operational management, and ability to execute structured approaches/methodologies to business problems.

  • Experience with translating user needs into requirements for process, functional, and technical enhancements.

  • Develop and maintain the vision and product roadmap for the LGP; requires strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, prioritize, and champion the needs of multiple stakeholders.

Content Management:

  • Proven technical savvy and experience with componentized content modeling, structured authoring tools, componentized content management systems, and familiarity with semantic services.

  • Experience providing structural content solutions for diverse content formats, including but not limited to text, video, audio, images, algorithms, workflows, data sets.

  • Experience with end-to-end publishing workflows and associated systems spanning authoring, content management, content delivery, and end-user content consumption.

  • Experience transitioning content creation and publishing operations to a defined structured-authoring standard (e.g., Darwin Information Type Architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field (e.g., information science, public health)

  • 7-10 years of professional experience leading all aspects of content structure within a large-scale and sophisticated digital and print publishing operation.

  • 7-10 years of leadership and managerial experience; ability to communicate effectively in a geographically dispersed team.

  • 7-10 years of project management experience, including meeting facilitation, customer and internal team engagement, project and operational management, and ability to execute structured approaches/methodologies to business problems.

  • Experience with conversational artificial intelligence (AI) agents and applications, cloud-services, and API technology.

  • Experience in working with individuals with varied levels of knowledge and experience using new systems and technology (e.g., change enablement.

  • Experience with evidence-based health and wellness content targeting segmented audiences (e.g., consumer, patient, professional.

  • Experience with multi-lingual content operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range will be $80,000 to $95,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or
