SAIC is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer to join our team supporting S3I in Huntsville, AL.

The Hardware Test Engineer will be a part of a team providing hardware and software development solutions to the US Army DevCom Software, Simulation, and Systems Integration Directorate (S3I) located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The Hardware Test Engineer will also be responsible for Design Verification Testing (DVT) of tactical military and special purpose electronic assemblies.

Duties:

• Participate in the design and development process as a representative of the test team

• Define hardware test environments and fixtures

• Responsible for calibration compliance for measurement & test equipment

• Develop plans, procedures for environmental and electromagnetic testing (MIL-STD-810, 464)

• Troubleshoot and debug formal test procedures using dry runs

• Perform and/or assist initial checkout and debug of Circuit Card Assemblies

• Perform in-house pre-compliance environmental screening

• Conduct and/or supervise environmental and electromagnetic test events (in-house and at off-site test labs)

• Compile formal test result documentation for in-house testing

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors in Electrical/Computer Engineering and five (5) or more years of relevant experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess a Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Experience with defining hardware test environments and fixtures.

• Experience with developing plans and procedures for testing specifically following MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD 464.

• Experience with in-house testing with formal test result documentation.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW

• Proficient inMicrosoft Office (including PowerPoint and Visio)

• Knowledge of scripting language (Python, SCPI, etc.)

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
