The position duties will include:
Mechanic's Duties:
- Knowledge and ability to remove vehicle brakes/drive shafts
- Knowledge and ability to mount and dismount, balance, and properly handle and store tires
- Knowledge and ability to install and remove a vehicle exhaust system
- Knowledge and ability to safely use garage/heavy duty equipment such as vehicle hoists, floor jacks, dynamometers
- Knowledge and ability to install test equipment properly, safely, and without damage such as thermocouples, torquemeters, speed sensors
- Ability to work with sensitive and delicate testing equipment so that damage does not occur upon installation, removal, or storage
Test Technician's Duties:
Self-starter that can run testing based on a schedule without daily instruction
Interface with calibration engineers for vehicle characteristics, troubleshooting
Good communication skills, able to stay focused and on-task
Must be able to work as a team to prioritize task deliverables
A focus on run-to-run repeatability and test data quality is a must
Experience in how to utilize vehicle software to enable specialty modes like dyno/coastdown/PT test mode a plus
The minimum requirements:
High School diploma or GED
1+ years of experience in emission testing
Preferred Requirements:
ASE Certified Mechanic preferred
Associate in automotive technology or equivalent
Powertrain experience preferred
Customer focus mindset required
Proven ability to handle tasks independently
Proven ability to participate and lead in a Team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid organizational skills; proven ability to multi-task
Proficient in MS Office Applications
Ability to adjust to changing requirements
