Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and quality-oriented Architect with a minimum of 10 years of experience who is interested in taking an important role in the JMT Architecture group. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with internal and external clients, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. As this is a growth area within our organization, the leadership within JMT is committed to assisting with both business development and expansion of the Federal Government Projects group as well as providing the team with the support necessary to enhance their marketing tools, skills, and capabilities.
The candidate will be responsible for performing all phases of architectural work from site and building evaluations and conceptual design through construction administration. Prime technical skills will include a working knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to create construction documents in accordance with the federal Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), GSA P100 Facilities Standards for the Public Buildings Service, as well as building and life safety codes. The candidate should have experience in creating and editing SpecIntact specifications and the utilization of UFC CAD/BIM standard.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Lead project teams in development of the aesthetic and technical design and preparation of architectural design and construction documents
Review and process contractor submittals and shop drawings
Analyze and document code requirements
Develop fee proposals, monitor project design schedules and budgets
Utilize computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans - specifically Revit, BIM 360 and AutoCAD
Ensure quality control reviews throughout project completion
Understanding of design-bid-build and design-build projects for Federal Government projects
Collaborate with in-house engineers and designers, outside consultants, and staff to meet clients' goals

3-5 years of architectural design experience
Professional Architect License
Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, Microstation, AutoCAD
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Qualifications Preferred
Masters of Architecture
LEED AP accreditation
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
Proficient with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software
Able to complete out of town assignments, typically 1 to 2 nights per quarter
NCARB accreditation
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
