Analyst II- Technology Operations, End User Computing

From inception to completion, you will work alongside senior team members and platform engineering teams to solution and maintain processes that includes continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, Infrastructure support, and implementation. It takes a passion for learning and utilizing new technology and techniques to develop ground-breaking support solutions. To ensure this transformation and growth, CarMax is looking for an Analyst II to work with Business, Application, and Infrastructure teams to leverage industry best practices, emerging trends, security compliance standards, and agile development methodologies to deliver best in class service to our IT partners and CarMax customers. Working collaboratively and creatively as part of the engineering support team, you will help drive self-service and automation of manual processes. Essential responsibilities of this position are as follows

  • Assess issues and provide solutions for problems that cannot be handled by Tier 1

  • Create and maintain documentation and knowledge base articles

  • Research problems and partner with outside teams for resolution

  • Assist with the administration of computer security policies and vulnerability checks using established policies and procedures

  • Assist with the implementation of tactical projects and software releases using predefined project methodologies

  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems. Be available for after-hours maintenance activities. Diagnose and troubleshoot.

  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer and associate experience is the best it can be

Required skills and experience are as follows.

  • Delivery focused with the ability to drive tasks forward and meet demanding deadlines. Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Communicate effectively with a wide range of audience internally and externally

  • Self-Motivated and Self-Learner. Solid problem investigation, diagnosis, and solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement

  • Strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity demonstrated through clear communication and positive action.

  • Responsible for mentoring others in best practices, procedures and concepts

  • Delivers solutions through building consensus in both business and technical perspectives

  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services

  • Experience implementing and maintaining highly secure infrastructure solutions.

  • Experience with multiple hardware\software platforms

  • Windows OS

  • MAC OS

  • Microsoft Office 365

  • Support of Teams Equipment

  • Support of Network and Wireless Infrastructure

  • Mobile Devices

  • Virtual Desktops

  • Basic PowerShell knowledge

Education and\or Experience :

  • 2+ years of experience within the IT industry

  • 2+ years degree in IT related course of study

  • 2+ years of experience in Windows Operating Systems, Windows, IP based networks, Microsoft Office products, MAC OS and peripheral equipment (printers, scanners)

Work Location and Arrangement:This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA Technology Innovation Center and have a Hybrid work arrangement
