Cracker Barrel is seeking an Accountant to join the Home Office and be responsible for financial reporting for the beverage program, business licenses, and permits.
Prepares journal entries and reports for monthly and quarterly financial information related to beverage program, licenses, and health permits. Includes accruals for expense, amortization of prepaids and reporting.
Provides accurate and timely financial information such as food and beverage sales calculations as required by various governmental agencies.
Ensures that new license requests as well as renewals are prepared and submitted accurately and timely.
Assists management and cross functional leadership in fielding questions and identifying process and system improvements.
Ensures the general ledger is reconciled both timely and completely, reconciling accounts receivable, and payable accounts including investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Assists in review and enhancement of operational procedures by identifying financial impacts and/or restrictions.
Ensures general ledger is properly updated to reflect intent of operational procedure.
Prepares financial projections for assigned areas including beverage, licenses and health permits.
Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Exceptional organizational skills and detail oriented
Advanced Microsoft Excel
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 1-3 years professional experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred but not required
