Description: Manager, Propulsion - Level 5

This position will support the Propulsion competency and the successful candidate will provide local leadership, functional management and technical direction to a team of approximately 30 engineers responsible for engineering design and development in support of the multiple lines of Aeronautics business. As the leader in this organization you will be responsible to provide oversight of all functional engineering responsibilities for the local Propulsion team reporting into the greater overall Propulsion competency. You will also be expected to collaborate with peers and leadership to further the development, growth, and expertise of all Propulsion competencies across the enterprise.

- The candidate will also have extensive experience in engineering design and development of major aircraft systems.

- The candidate must have demonstrated capability to work with a team that contributes within a large enterprise across 3-major sites and the ability to organize, motivate, and lead large groups of diverse personnel that includes customers, partners, and suppliers that are geographically dispersed.

- The candidate must enjoy helping team members and associates by providing mentoring, career counseling, and technical guidance.

- Demonstration of a positive attitude and adaptability to a dynamic environment are also desired attributes.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires a DoD security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or equivalent Engineering discipline

- Prior experience serving as a Functional Manager, Supervisor or Technical Lead

Desired Skills:

- Existing professional relationships and/or direct experience collaborating with Air Mobility and/or ADP program leadership

-Prior experience demonstrating a strong technical background in propulsion/subsystems integration

-Experience with safety-of-flight qualification, airworthiness, flight certification and/or system safety

-Experience in engine/airframe hardware & software integration, engine performance analyses, engine control system development, inlet/exhaust system design

-Experience with Project Management

-Experience with project planning and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

-Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)

-Experience developing standard work practices or procedures

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
