Job Description

• Primary responsibility for collection of Accounts Receivable

  • The Collection Specialist will protect Badgers Accounts Receivable assets using good judgment and risk assessments.
  • Collection of past due customer accounts in assigned area's
  • Recognizes and monitors designated accounts before they become a problem and recommend changes
  • Overall customer account management; research and resolution of balances, unapplied payments, and ensure proper application of payments
  • Recommends periodic changes to customer status
  • Records collection information on customer's accounts
  • Resolve customer disputes, making every reasonable effort to collect
  • Provide support and share knowledge while maintaining excellent communication with Area Managers, billing, contracts, management
  • Accurately complete monthly A/R reporting package (ATB's)
  • Reconciling Customer account balances and performing account analysis at the invoice level
  • Distributes external collection reports
  • Keeps abreast of any relevant changes that could affect collection
  • To positively provide leadership and support within the Credit & Collection Team

  • Ad-Hoc (Other duties that may be assigned)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field; or the equivalent work experience.

  • Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Good problem solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand.
  • Ability to adapt to and learn new software.
  • Able to work effectively as part of as a team as well as independently.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reason, or facts.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
