SAIC has an opening for a Special Operations Subject Matter Expert (SOF SME) to support Joint Modernization Command.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The JMC SOF SME coordinates, plans and integrates SOF Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) capabilities in Joint Warfighting Assessments (JWA) and Project Convergence (PC) exercises.
The SOF SME conducts mission analysis and production of higher command orders (SOF annexes and appendices) and recommends SOF incorporation of Multi-Domain Operations into all aspects of JWA and PC scenario and exercise design.
Recommend appropriate echeloning and employment of SOF forces/assets within exercise design.
Participate in SOF forums and workgroups and provide briefings and information papers on SOF operations.
Coordinate with stakeholders for joint manning and augmentation in order to produce the Feasibility of Support Forces in accordance with (IAW) joint message format.
Assist JMC with aspects of Exercise Control (EXCON) and Higher Command (HICOM) replication during execution of JWAs, PCs, or in any other event that JMC has responsibility for execution.
Be prepared to act as a role player as required for engagements with exercise leaders and staffs.
Participate in JWA and PC Operational Planning Team (OPT) Efforts on a weekly basis.
Attend and participate in all key planning and coordination events of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) to fulfill many of the requirements listed above.
Key JELC events for exercise planning include, but may not be limited to, a Concept Development Conference (CDC), Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Main Planning Conference (MPC), Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) Conferences (x2), a Final Planning Conference (FPC) and potential Final Conditions Checks (FCC) and Rehearsals of Concept (ROC) Drills.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree and two (2) years or more of experience; Masters degree and 0 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
