Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Process Engineer II to join our TEAM! As the Process Engineer II we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as train hourly personnel, assist in writing and teaching process, and account for problem solving in priority areas.
Primary Objective
Responsible for process reliability, accuracy of data reporting and implementation of procedure and process changes.
Major Function and Scope
Trains hourly personnel to perform activities affecting quality and manufacturing processes.
Assists in writing and teaching process procedures to ensure corrective and preventative actions are taking place.
Accountable for problem solving in assigned priority areas utilizing corrective measures to maintain product quality standards.
Develops, tests, and implements process improvements.
May oversee and maintain the process reliability program.
May monitor utility usage (both gas & electric) for the plant facilities.
Ensures safe and healthful working conditions and an organized work environment.
Coaches and reviews performance of direct reports.
Maintain purchasing of plant needs for production.
Supports the implementation of new manufacturing equipment.
Supports quality and process reliability systems.
Work close with Production Team, Plant Manager, and Controllers to meet and exceed plant expectations.
Tracks and Documents customer claims.
Develops presentations as required.
Performs other duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
Bachelor's degree is required, preferred in Ceramic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
4 years' experience preferred.
Ceramic industry experience preferred.
Competencies
Core competencies include strong communication skills, organization, data analysis and interpretation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to train and coach. Ability to coordinate priorities. Ability to utilize Microsoft/Outlook.
