What You Will Be Doing

As the GNC Engineer, you will impact everything from System Performance to Program Reviews. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Design, integrate, and test GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products

- Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations

- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem-level requirements

- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities

- Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities

- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments:

- Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms

- Develop, verify, and validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations

- Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python

- Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation

Desired Skills:

- Proficiency with C++ programming, Matlab, Python, Linux, and CSF/CMD architecture

- Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses

- Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems

- Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)

- Experience developing and managing programs within MBSE tools

- Demonstrated experience transitioning and leading teams with Agile and DevSecOps processes

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
