The Opportunity:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer/ System Administrator supporting the SAFFIRE System Team, you will be working closely with developers and data integrators by providing and maintaining the environments needed to establish a consolidated data analytics environment utilizing COTS and FOSS software. This includes configuration management of hardware and software environment, supporting the Desktop development environment, providing Cloud Infrastructure as Code, and asset management and procurement. You will be a key member of the team, where the rubber meets the road, doing work that matters for some of the U.S. Government's most critical missions, and utilizing the latest technologies in Cloud Computing, AI/ML, and DevSecOps.
Qualifications:
Required:
Current Top Secret Security Clearance, preferably a Top Secret SCI with a current polygraph
7+ year of experience as a Cloud Systems Administrator
Information Assurance/DoD 8570 certification IAT Level II or higher (like Security+) or willing to obtain within 6 months
Experience with AWS Infrastructure
Knowledge on how to build, configure, and administrate all aspects of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 & 8
Must be able to apply security hardness according to DISA STIG requirements
Familiar with infrastructure as code concepts
Experience managing unclassified and classified development environments including workstations, servers, and GPU assets
Understanding of network configuration in cloud and on-prem environments
Strong grasp of Linux
Desired:
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar IaC technology
Experience procuring equipment for government contracts and asset management
AWS Certification - SysOps or DevOps Associate
Experience managing hybrid on-prem / cloud operating environments
Experience with CICD pipelines and GitOps (like ArgoCD)
Experience with container management/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, RKE2) and/or Platform as a Service (e.g., Openshift)
Experience with Helm charts, Kustomize, and/or updating k8s manifests
Experience with building and deploying Elastic Stack clusters for data and logs

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,300 - 189,600 USD
