Looking to take your corporate real estate development career and join a growing - yes, growing - a national retailer that is opening new stores? Prior experience in retail or restaurant real estate? The Real Estate Manager will assist in ensuring Batteries Plus's store growth plans are met through proper site selection, acquisition, and development. The Real Estate Manager completes extensive market and site analysis nationwide to ensure new sites and rebuilt sites meet expected ROI goals.
Located on-site at Batteries Plus corporate office and national headquarters in Hartland, Wisconsin, the Real Estate Manager will work directly with franchisees and brokers in markets across the United States to screen retail store site locations, manage project schedules for new stores build-outs and store renovations. The Real Estate Manager will secure premium real estate lease spaces for store locations to meet growth requirements for both franchise and corporate locations. Locations are selected with a network planning approach based on an established market plan, defined site selection criteria including key demographic data, traffic counts, visibility & access, and area competition.

Responsibilities:
Work directly with franchisees and brokers in the market to screen site opportunities considering defined site selection criteria, market plan, and feasibility
Prepare and secure initial site information including space plan, build-out costs, economic valuation, key demographic data, traffic counts, aerial and site photos, competitor info and alternative locations
Serve as the primary contact and liaison between Store Operations, Franchise owners, Real Estate, and Senior Management for assigned projects
Work with inspectors and other agencies to ensure permits and meet project deadlines
Cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deadlines
Project Management of multiple projects including new store build-outs, store renovations, and other capital initiatives
Negotiate final site economics and business and legal terms for each site in partnership with the internal legal team
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Real Estate, Business Management, or related field
5+ years of increased responsibility leading retail and/or restaurant site development and new store location projects
Ability for overnight travel 50-80% by vehicle and plane
Must be able to rent a vehicle

Proven ability to make presentations to senior management and/or groups of employees
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Highly organized with a sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple projects
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
