Labcorp Oncology is seeking a Cytogenetics Technologist to join their team! The position will focus primarily on analysis of oncology chromosomes utilizing the Applied Spectral Imaging software.
The schedule for this position is: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM -4:30PM central time zone.
Please note: This position can be 100% remote or work onsite at our dry lab in Austin, TX. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US. Must meet Work from Home requirements listed below.
Responsibilities:
Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
Comply with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Cytogenetics Technology or relatable life science
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory
Previous experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images required
Oncology cytogenetics experience preferred
ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG) highly preferred
Computer skills; must be able to effectively use the Internet, email, text messaging, chat applications, and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback
Strong patient focus
Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development
Self-motivated and self-starter with ability to work independently with limited supervision
Work From Home Requirements:
Home office space must be a dedicated room that isn't shared and meets HIPAA compliance.
Must agree to have your home address added to reports of cases you analyze or report. This is a CMS requirement
Provide wired internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec
Ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands
Salary Range: $22.00 - $44.00/hour
