Job Description

Title: Corporate Asset Protection Systems Specialist (East/West) Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 2300028L Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Corporate Asset Protection/Safety (AP/S) Manager - Operations; is responsible for the planning, procurement, design, and layout of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and other physical security systems across all NEXCOM business lines in coordination with NEXCOM Codes B and N related to major/minor projects, renovations, and Micro-Market builds. Duties and Responsibilities: - Serves as the Asset Protection (AP) lead for coordinating the execution of Code S construction standards for project management activities associated with physical security equipment such as alarms, locks, safes, EAS, CCTV, etc., and coordinates installation on assigned projects through all construction phases. - Collaborates with Facilities Management Team and various groups within NEXCOM in work related to NEXCOM environments to promote the safety and security of employees and property by managing the implementation of closed circuit television systems from design through installation, identifying and documenting security needs, proposing appropriate solutions, working with contractors to develop design documents and specifications, reviewing cost proposals, managing project and installation schedules, and managing the life cycle maintenance and depreciation of enterprise security systems. - Reads, understands, and evaluates site and facility drawings for potential security deficiencies and evaluates the effectiveness of proposed security measures and acts as prime Code S point of contact and project representative with outside agencies such as NAVFAC, PWD, and local activities during design and construction phases related to AP CCTV and physical security standards for planned construction or remodeling. - Plots CCTV and EAS layout/placements on floor plans and provides the same to contracted providers for equipment and installation cost estimates. Reviews cost estimates for accuracy prior to submittal to Codes B and N for budget approval. Manages project installation schedules for CCTV/EAS/IDS in connection with preparation of scopes of work, schematic drawings, schedules, and budgets. - Tracks, forecasts and controls Code S funding throughout the complete design and construction cycle of assigned renovation and construction projects. Responsible for assigned projects total funds expenditures to remain within approved limits. Ensures change orders related to physical security are reviewed/approved in accordance with established guidance. - Coordinates with field AP/S programs/managers and actively participates and represents NEXCOM Code S in project coordination meetings with field activities for the purpose of instructing in specific design and construction procedures and requirements to be followed. Discusses and clarifies problem areas and answers technical questions related to AP/S physical security systems. - Coordinates with field AP/S Managers to evaluate the effectiveness of installed security systems such as alarms, locks, keys, safes, CCTV, etc., and deliver training on the appropriate use of technical security applications and systems, ensure proper working order of CCTV systems, prepare reports of deficiencies and make recommendations for improvement and/or changes. - Utilizes Lawson Portal for AP/S department inquiries in connection with invoicing and submittal of requisitions (Purchase Orders) through the Lawson Procurement System for project related equipment and services. - Conducts on-site facility security assessments and develops analyses to identify how vulnerable facilities are while identifying threats against them. Reviews Physical Security Assessments and makes countermeasure recommendations and determines level of concurrence. Consults with NEXCOM AP/S personnel and command security specialists to devise protection strategies that provide maximum security with the least interference in NEXCOM's mission. - Carries out mission with an extremely high degree of independence. Insures Code S Capital Expense Program goals are met while keeping abreast of the historical, current and trending financial health of the Enterprise and manages asset tracking through case management systems. - Attends professional conventions, seminars and trade shows to remain abreast of new surveillance and security technology, technical documentation and implementations, and provides recommendations to NEXCOM leadership for strategic planning while working to implement advanced technical and physical security system technologies and security networks to meet business requirements. - Makes recommendations for AP systems and equipment standards, policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to support the physical security program including the testing of security and surveillance systems and new technologies. Top Secret Clearance is required and must be maintained. Performs other related duties as assigned. The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required. Qualifications: Requires a total of seven (7) years of experience as indicated below: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience gained in the retail or hospitality asset protection fields, which enabled the applicant to gain skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for nine (9) months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year bachelor's degree for three years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in retail or hospitality asset protection, which involved analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work in security/investigations, internal review and control techniques, physical security programs, alarm and CCTV systems and familiarity with aspects of construction/renovation projects including coordinating and developing CCTV design, specifications, and cost estimating. Preferred candidates should be versed in Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat (or similar PDF-editing software) and have basic experience with Microsoft SharePoint. Job: Management
