GENERAL FUNCTION
Lead writer and project manager in the response to EyeMed's largest and most complex Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Provides consultative marketing and sales operations support to EyeMed's Sales and Account Management teams, including proposal writing, project management, finalist presentation development and support of additional strategic marketing projects upon request. As a team leader, this position also provides peer coaching and development to a subset of proposal writers, performing ongoing peer reviews of their RFPs, assisting in troubleshooting RFP questions and issues and conducting ongoing developmental touch bases.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Owns large case RFP responses with a primary focus on large strategic groups and complex commercial and government RFPs. These proposals are 100% customized to the client and require executive review. The RFP process includes:
Works closely with EyeMed executive sales team to align on strategic positioning
Works across departments to strategize and gain alignment on unique client requests beyond our standards and develops strategic responses
Ensures all responses meet legal requirements, are consistent with our brand positioning and tell a compelling story about EyeMed
Leads the organization in all project deadlines, including internal review, RFP deadlines and timely detailed production
Provides recommendations for network analyses and competitive positioning
Conducts post-project reviews of major RFP opportunities to identify best practices and issues to address for future opportunities
Provides Team Leadership support through the following:
Provides coaching and development for a subset of proposal writers
Assists in delegation of workload among the team according to capacity and skill set
Responsible for the training and onboarding of new specialists
Conducts periodic touch base meetings
Conducts peer reviews of RFPs to ensure competitive positioning matches strategy, accuracy in responses and editing for brand voice
Owns key process improvement projects
Owns overall management of RFP database - including:
Developing best-in-class process for training, updating and quality assurance
Pursues continuous improvement of information - ensuring all answers are positioned competitively and support EyeMed's brand position
Periodically assesses applicable sections to ensure data is up-to-date, and if not, proactively researches the information
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years writing experience including strong persuasive writing skills
Strong project management and organizational skills to manage schedules and deadlines
Demonstrated success in problem solving, collaboration and communication
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify/address problems, and meet deadlines (highly organized)
Technical writing capabilities - strong writing skills including clear organization of thought and ability to verbalize detailed processes while adding creative marketing language
Computer and Word Processing Skills (Microsoft Office programs)
Grammatical/spelling accuracy essential
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
B2B Marketing/sales support experience
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience
Peer coaching and/or management experience
