Overview
A Child Care Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe and fun environment for young children to preteens. Their duties include coming up with creative and educational activities, preparing and serving snacks to children and maintaining a clean environment for the children.
State of Georgia Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check
HS Diploma or GED required
Must be 18 years or older
Other Requirements:
Education: CDA (Child Development Associate Certification) or higher degree in ECE or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience improving and developing curriculum preferred
Knowledge of the Highreach Curriculum for all ages
Knowledge of room arrangement and labeling procedures
Knowledge of age appropriate practices for children of all ages
Ability to learn new practices including ITERS and ECERS
Have the ability to juggle multiple duties
Experience planning lessons and activities
Excellent communication and people skills
Willing to travel to trainings as needed, possible overnight required

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assisting the teachers with planning, teaching and implementing the Highreach curriculum and lesson plans, so that it is most effective for the children in all age groups
Knowledge of and ability to evaluate the whole learning environment in order to suggest improvements that will provide a more well rounded program in every classroom
Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and suggestions to teachers in a non-judgmental way, in order to improve their classrooms and the services provided to the children and families of Childcare Network
Work with the staff to provide positive physical and verbal interactions with the children throughout the day
Assist with new employee training and mentoring
