Description
SAIC is seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to lead a team at Fort Meade, MD. This role will directly support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center (NEC) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding systems architecture, data analytics, data strategy, data architecture, requirements, and implementation plans. Additionally, they will contribute to strategic planning for a digital engineering cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and document strategy and architecture for storing, manipulating, and managing data within a digital engineering environment.
Lead digital transformation initiatives within cloud environments, advocating for modernization and adoption of advanced data management practices.
Engage with customers and senior management to define strategic plans and objectives, ensuring alignment with long-term goals of the NC3 Enterprise Center.
Provide expert management oversight for a team of professionals, including cloud developers, cloud engineers, and database developers.
Supervise and mentor a team of up to four employees, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, while ensuring effective resource allocation and team performance.
Plan and coordinate the deployment and operations of cloud-based infrastructures across multiple enclaves, navigating complex security and compliance landscapes.
Empower team members through targeted goal-setting, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate cloud capabilities with existing enterprise systems and workflows.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of emerging technologies and best practices in data science and cloud computing.
Qualifications
Experience with data strategy, data architecture, and data analytics, demonstrating a history of effective data system design and operations.
Proven ability to draft strategic plans and detailed implementation plans, guiding the adoption and management of advanced data solutions.
Strong experience with cloud environments, particularly with implementing enterprise-level data solutions within these environments.
Educational requirements include a Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; a Master's degree with twelve (12) years or more of related experience; or a PhD or JD with nine (9) years or more of related experience. Relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Prior experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is desired, highlighting a preference for candidates with a depth of knowledge in utilizing AWS for data solutions.
Must be a US Citizen and possess an active TS clearance, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Supervisory experience is required, with a preference for individuals who have successfully managed and mentored a technical team of four or more employees.
