POSITION SUMMARY

The Control Panel Assembly Technician fabricates and tests industrial control panels and junction boxes per engineering design specifications while meeting departmental goals, objectives and deadlines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Identify common electrical components and basic understanding of electrical theory

  • Accurately read drawings and layout dimensions

  • Utilize fabrication tools such as drills, saws, cutters and punches

  • Ensure electrical inventory and assets are protected and accounted for electronically and physically

  • Fabricate control panels and junction boxes while ensuring compliance with engineering design, applicable standards and customer design inputs

  • Troubleshoot problems with electrical instrumentation and controls

  • Maintain and improve the efficiency of the production of control panels and junction boxes

  • Assist Production Mechanics as requested to run conduit/wiring

  • Support Production Mechanics in the operational testing of system builds

  • Maintain authorized status for lock-out/tag-out practices and maintain appropriate training and classifications to perform assigned tasks

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of continuous improvement and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste

  • Perform routine duties with minimal supervision. Learn the trade from Senior Control Panel Technicians and Control Panel Assembly Lead Hand

  • Facilitate above processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Associates Degree (Two year college or Electrical Trade school): Preferred

Experience: 1 plus years experience in heavy industrial assembly, Production environment: Required1 years plus experience in hands-on industrial control panel assembly, industrial process controls, or related field: Preferred

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word,Excel): Preferred

Certifications & Licenses: Must maintain a valid Driver's License that meets Busch insurance standardsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
