The Early Lifecycle Management team engages on all aspects of launching new sites and projects at Amazon building globally. ELM is responsible for the quality assurance processes of all the systems being handed over to the onsite Reliability and Maintenance team. As part of their Quality and Automation pillar, ELM is looking for a Technical Project manager that can help the team to automate their quality control processes, leveraging and introducing new technologies.

The Quality and Innovation Technical Project Manager (TPM) will provide a single point of contact for large-scale initiatives rolled out on multiple geographic region, focused on introducing cutting edge technologies to automate, digitalize and improve our quality control programs. To accomplish this, you will drive strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including Operations, field RME, Process Engineering, Operations Engineering, World-Wide Design and other engineering entities. Your work will help to deliver robust and innovative process that are scalable, reduce manual work and overall reduce the cost of ownership of the systems you support.

You will deliver this through the use of statistics and data analytics, structured problem solving, implementation of global support mechanisms, system performance monitoring tools, identification and dissemination of best practices.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the introduction of cutting edge technologies, such as drones, AI, Machine Learning, in the ELM quality assurance processes.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, performance metrics, and feedback mechanisms for your pillars technologies.

  • Develop metrics and proactive monitoring tools to measure the reliability and performance of systems as well as measure success of support mechanisms.

  • Build an effective working relationship with key stakeholders and engineering leaders supporting Amazon Operations

  • Identify, analyze and resolve reliability, availability and maintainability issues across your technical pillar.

  • Produce periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on your team's work and performance.

  • Write effective narratives and present them to Sr. Managers and Directors.

  • Travel up to 50% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
